What are we about?
Moving from Primary to Secondary is sometimes regarded as the most
stressful time in your childhood, often needlessly. In this position I have lost count of how many times I have been asked "Does your head get flushed down a toilet?", both jokingly and seriously. In today's modern society no child need worry about bullying, as many schools have in place firm stategies to combat this. I made the move from primary to secondary a few years ago and now I want to help others who are going through it now. Please browse as many or as little sections on the left which interest you.

Pupil Testimonials...
Ellie (S1 Pupil):
" I think this site is really good, it was a brilliant idea."
AN Other - P7 Pupil - (Brief and to the point)
" OMG! This site is SOOOO COOL! Thank You!"
Amanda, First Year Pupil, Fredericksburg, USA:
" I like the site. Most of the stuff is useful - The site is AWESOME and the information is useful. Mainly all my school said was it was like middle school, but the school is bigger and the work is a little harder, but this site gives me a better idea what it's like!"
Parent Testimonials...
(S1 Parent):
" The site is reasonably well laid out and manageable, and I like some features (like the print bar conveniently being displayed to print out the timetable). Keep forging ahead with good intentions, good results and good press and you have an opportunity to become well respected for important work."
My Most Impressive Emails To Date Are From...
Elementary Schools in Arizona, Virginia and Washington, who tell me transition is considered 'scary' there too, though 'a wet finger in the ear' replaces head flushing as main rumor!
Various Primaries in Southampton. A Pupil from a Shetland Primary School. Millport Library.
Various Pupils from Cardiff and Belfast. An Australian College.
A group of Pupils from Calgary in Alberta, Canada, asking for advice on suitable venues for dates with other pupils, who found the site on Google.
An English speaking Youth Group in Nice, France searching for 'high school fears' on Google.
So Word Gets About!

A Brief Word From Me...
" Honestly guys, you worry too much!!    In 99% of cases the transfer goes without a single hiccup and many older pupils will tell you - First Years have more fun!!    Try being stuck in double Maths of a Friday and see a group First Years pile into a bus for yet ANOTHER school trip and then tell me you have the raw end of the deal. But remember, if you should run in to trouble First Year Focus is always here to lend a hand. "
About Me...
I am currently in First Year at Strathclyde University studying Computing Science. Makes a change being the wee fish in the big pond again, but, just like school, absolutely nothing to worry about! I am assisting at two local Youth Groups. I collect input from these sources and use it to improve the quality and intergrity of content within this website.
